Tempest Book by Victoria Aveyard

Set in the salt-stained world of the Lyrian Sea, Tempest follows Cat Rose, a former noblewoman turned pirate tavern queen who is captured by the colonizing Meridian Empire. To escape the noose, she is forced into a brutal ultimatum: track down and capture Valerian Kane, a legendary pirate captain who commands the sea and happens to be the only man she ever loved. Told through a dual timeline, this high-seas adventure chronicles a deadly game of betrayal, survival, and a deeply passionate, slow-burn romance.
